Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), also known as epigallocatechin 3-gallate, is the ester of epigallocatechin and gallic acid, and is a type of catechin. it is the main activity and water soluble components, is the highest content of catechin components, accounting for Green Tea gross 9%-13%, EGCG has very strong antioxidant activity, the antioxidant activity of vitamin C is at least 100 many times, is 25 times the vitamin E, can protect cells from damage and DNA.
EGCG is a kind of component extracted from Chinese green tea. It is the primary active and water-soluble component of green tea, which has the highest content among the tea catechins.
